Good afternoon,

how do you simulate (CFD program for example) or by calculation formules the cooling time of an article in glass with 5mm thickness with forced air blowing.

Thanks for your help!

All I have is more questions. What is the shape of the glass, what are the contents, what is the conductivity and thermal diffusivity of the contents. If you are willing to make some assumptions your calculation can be simplified. I would start by assuming that the contents of the glass are at one temperature (No stratification of contents)

You need to pick a Biot number that will fit with your application

Hello!

Thanks, the shape of the glass can be various, let's imagine a plate to simplify.

The temperature is constant.

Soda-lime glass.

Well i think you should use a multiphase flow on Fluent (that's the program i use for CFD). It takes into consideration the solidification of the glass as you move along. If u have access to it i think it would help.
