The global shaping by surface was modified in NX8.5 and the result is not the same than NX7.5

I have joined 2 parts:

- global_shaping_by_surface_NX7.5.prt

- global_shaping_by_surface_NX8.5.prt to compare the 2 results

I agree that the Control Surface must be longer (It works in NX8.5 with another section), but this method was OK in NX7.5

I hope that somebody have a solution because I have a lot of part with this method.

I know that I can use "Copy the Old Feature" and "Past It" to retrieve the old menu, but is there any way to launch the old menu directly ?

Thanks in advance

I'll check if the old menu is still available other then when editing a legacy Global Shaping feature, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

That being said, the original reference surface can be easily modified using the 'Enlarge' surface function (just select the 'Natural' mode and toggle OFF the 'Edit a Copy' option) as I did in the modified version of your NX 8.5 example attached below.

Hi John

Did you find if the old menu is still available other then when editing a legacy Global Shaping feature ?

So far the people I've talked to have not been able to find anything. I have one more inquiry still out but it's not looking good.
