1 - We have to order globe valve 1.5", cl 150, body/bonnet Malleable Ductile Iron. But my manufacturer is offering A182 F316. I know that F316 has good resistance to corrosion, but not strong when compared to Malleable Ductile Iron. Please advise.

2 - Also, the term Malleable Ductile Iron looks odd. I think it should be either Malleable iron or Ductile iron. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi KPM21443

Actually in China, most of the manufacturers don't provide cast iron valve. So maybe you could choose F51 body if you think F316 is not strong enough.

Normally, we say DI (Ductile Iron) only.

And there are some manufacturers can supply Ductile Iron globe valve in China. They normally do OEM orders for Japan. If you need any further information, you are welcome to contact me.

What is service, design conditions and connecting piping material as this will impact whether SS is acceptable alternative?
