Hello, we have to design glulam beam (400x2115) with openings kinda near support. Can someone suggest book which contains guidelines for opening (and its strengthening) design according to eurocode.
Similar to "Holzbau: Bemessung und Konstruktion (Beuth Praxis) (Deutsch) Bibliothekseinband – 22. Mai 2015" but in english.

Hi billybones, while not to Eurocode, the APA produce the attached advice on penetrations through Glulam which may be helpful.

File download is not starting. Is this 8 page long brochure? I found it on another website;

This is the first page, 6 pages long. Not sure why the pdf doesn't download (I'm getting the same thing). It's tech note v700 if you search for it.

DIN EN has design guidelines for openings in timber beams.

look at publications online of the American Institute of Timber Construction (AITC). Are the openings checking or cracks or drilled holes or cut notches?
