I am trying to create a glulam beam/column portal frame. The glulam beam runs over the glulam column and overhangs by a few feet. I also have a glulam portal bay in the transverse direction, this glulam beam frames into the first glulam beam. Any ideas on how I can detail this connection?

Are you trying to make a moment joint out of a butt-and-pass bearing connection with wood members? Or are you making a "portal frame" as described and tested by the APA and incorporated into prescriptive wood design sections of building codes? A picture/sketch and some beam and column sizes would help here.

I like knee braces in the secondary direction to remove the need for such a detailed connection.
