Does anyone have detailed instructions for installing and configuring the GM Toolkit / GMPDL? The directions that came with it are not really that helpful.

Thank you...

See my reply to your question on bbsnotes.

Everything you need to install the toolkit is either in the zip files or on gmsupplypower.com.

I hate to ask, but where (or how) do I find bbsnotes?

Sorry. Thought ugman was someone else. Kinda rare to have 2 different people post pretty much the exact same question about the toolkit in the same day.

Here's my reply from bbsnotes:

After you unzip the toolkit, you should have 3 separate directories: a gmconfig directory, a gmlaunch4d directory and a gmpdl directory. The gmlaunch.bat file will be in gmlaunch4d directory. This is the file that you will need to edit. Since it's a batch file (.bat), you will want to open it in a text editor to make any changes.

Each directory has help files (.html and .doc files) that explain exactly what you need to do to install and configure the toolkit. Look for those file types I listed along with subdirectories named Doc.

Once you get everything configured, you will need to run NX via the gmlaunch.bat file (double click it).

You will need to configure (edit) gmlaunch.bat, gmlaunch.dat, and any custom directories via gmug_custom_dirs.dat.

You can double click on gmlaunch.bat at any time to find out what needs to be fixed. I also believe the GM Launch dialog contains a utility to verify gmlaunch.dat. I will tell you specifically what is not correct or what is causing the error(s).

I believe Tim meant to say;

"IT will tell you specifically what is not correct or what is causing the error(s)."

And he's right, inside the gmlaunch program (after you double click on the gmlaunch batch file) there's a 'Resource File' tab at the top of the menu, click that and at the bottom of that screen is a 'Validate Resource File' clickie.

Click that and it'll tell you what is wrong.
