Developing GMAW (STT) Root & Hot Pass / SMAW Fill & Cap weld procedure my question is QW-403-10 does this essential variable apply to both processes. Please see below.

#1. Test Coupon 0.375" Root 0.125" x 1.1 = 0.1375" Fill & Cap 0.25" x 1.1 = 0.275" = Qualified base metal thickness
0.4125"?

#2. Test Coupon 0.375" Root 0.125" x 1.1 = 0.1375" Fill & Cap 0.25" x 2 = 0.5" = Qualified base metal thickness 0.6375"?
