I've never seen it before, but at my current employer we are breeding critters in the curing tanks. First it was mosquitoes and now its gnats. How can anything live in that alkaline water?
Has anyone else seen this, and how do you get rid of the little critters?

Hang a couple of those toilet deodorizers over the edge of the tank but not in the water. Those have paradichlorobenzene in them and it works as a reasonably good repellent. Also, agitate the water more often and brush the edge of the tank to remove the "bathtub ring". That prevents larvae from sticking.
