Hello,

I like to join (subscribe) a good e-library where can I download structural engineering articles (books). I’m particulary interested in concrete, steel, wood, earthquake topics. Do you have any suggestions.

Thanx in advance

A star for sliderulera for just maintaining his library.

There are a few free magazine that I subscribe to that have pdf's on thier website to easily archive those articles in case the website goes away. Structure Magazine quickly comes to mind as an excellent resource at a fantastic price.

I collect old engineering manulas and a good source I have found are retiries. Retired contractors/fabricators have been the best source for old books. May cost you a beer or two. It's also a great way to get out and see how your designs are interpeted and get some insight.

CCB1, can you put me in touch with a few old engineers that I can buy beer for??? Just kidding, I like to check the local used book store. I found a copy of Karl Terzaghi's "Soil Mechanics in Engineering Practice", first edition.

RVSWA, no but I know a young engineer that wouldn't mind a few beers. I second the notion of visiting used book stores. I have found several good additions to my collection. Also the people running the places are very cooperative.

If you need a publication, take advantage of available technology:
Step 1: Go to Google
Step 2: Using advanced search type title e.g."Metric Practice for Structural Steelwork"
Step 3: Review 131 or more returned results - chances are that you can simply order the book you are looking for..
It took less than 60 sec....
