Hello,
my client requires for all my forgings in my pressure vessel that I'm building to be tested acc. to E112 to determine Average grain size according to E112.
My client has a specification which limits grain size dimension according to "thickness" of material (e.g. 5 or finer for thk<30mm, etc....).
For a Welding neck flange, what thickness should I consider? Thickness of welding end? Or thickness of the flange? Or Thickness/4 (as per governing thk of ASME)?
Construction code: ASME VIII Div.1, MAT. SS304
Thank you
