Graphics/Performance question

When solving a problem in ANSYS classic, I can not minimize the screen. Similarly the "show desktop" key has no effect. Does anyone have any idea as to the reason for this? We recently upgraded to x64 machines, could this be the problem? Also, this issue does not occur with Workbench, only with the "classic" interface.

At first I believed it to be a graphics card issue but I am not sure that this is the problem. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Just as a suggestion:
Try to the change the compatibility of your Ansys with windows:
You can find that at:

Start menu of windows--, program--, Ansys 11--, Ansys
Right click on Ansys--, properties--, compatibility
Active the program compatibility, and change that to your windows

I am using win 32 therefore the above route might be different at your computer.

I am having trouble finding this compatibility option?

Even for small problems, I can not minimize the window. Running an identical problem in Workbench does not have this problem.

Sorry ,I do not have any experience with win 64. Could you find the route on a computer with win32.
In win 32 it is easy to find:
at the Left- bottom side of monitor: Start,
Program
Ansys 11
Ansys
Right click on Ansys,
properties,
compatibility

The compatibility option is not part of the properties. If you can think of any other reason why the classic interface would freeze up please let me know. Thanks.

Sorry I do not have any other idea. Maybe you have to log in with Admin id.

Hi,
in the graphic device options of Ansys Classic, try and see if changing the setting between W32, W32s and 3D has an effect.
