Hi everyone,
I'm facing a problem..
This is my first time that I use braces..
I know how they resist the lateral forces.. I know that some types of braces carry some gravity loads...
I use the diagonal type in this model. Using hand calculation, the column between the braces should not carry any load since it will be zero force member as I guess.
However, Etabs shows another load path that I cannot figure out what it is...
* The DEAD load forces from ETABS & the moment releases of the members are in the attachment.
could you help me to know how this type of braces carry the gravity loads?
Thanks,
