We presently have the responsibility to augment a grounding grid for an existing gas plant. Would someone be able to supply documented information or literature defining a distance between a metal body and a ground grid that would require the metal body to be bonded to the ground grid? Please let me know if more information is required to properly address this question. Thank you for your assistance, Gary

Probably do not understand your question. Are you searching for electrical clearances to ground or are you upgrading the plant ground grid?.

For ground grid upgrade probably you should determine the
allowable step, touch potential and the max. GPR on the plant site. For that a ground grid design should be upgrade and the resistivity of the soil and the injected current to ground should be determine.

Please provide additional details.

I’m primarily interested in obtaining information on publications covering codes or guidelines for grounding grids. Presently I’m not interested in receiving an answer to a specific grounding grid installation question. Are you aware of any available code or guideline publications and where or how these publications might be purchased? Regards, Gary
