Hi folks,
I have a relatively easy question to the experienced structural engineers in the forum. Has anyone designed dowel connection between an existing RC shear wall and new precast reinforced concrete shear wall ?
The idea is transfer horizontal shear through the dowel connection. The construction idea is to have holes at the bottom of the precast wall and place metal ducts in these holes and also have holes at the side so that the ducts can be filled with grout. It seems to be a very conventional connection yet I am not able to find any sources in terms of the shear capacity, size of the metal ducts and length of dowels of such a connection. Does anyone have any resources that I can go through ?
Thanks !
