Is there anybody out there who can perhaps help with the possible contents of a Grumman Stress Manual (if that is what it was called).

I was recently asked about a reference (date unknown to me) for Grumman's analysis for curved panels in shear.
The question was stated as Grumman's analysis, not Northdrop-Grumman, so I guess it might be an old reference.

The original source you normally see in older documentation for curved panels in shear is NACA. See relevant Bruhn section for example. Thus I guess the Grumman methodology may well be the same NACA data, but modified for Grumman internal use.

Anybody got any ideas?

All curved panel shear stress methods that I've seen reference NACA TN 1348. Many NACA papers (TN 2661) reproduce the plots from this document.

Hallo edbgtr

Many thanks for your contribution.

Not only have you confirmed what I think we all thought,
but you have proved it. A better answer I could not wish for.

Many thanks again
