I am designing a connector protector/dust cover for industrial electronics and plan on using EPDM with a durometer = 75 to match another connector cover we have on the product. In this case, I plan to assemble fit this cover by a snap fit of a post on the EPDM part through a hole in the aluminum housing of the product. Are there any guidelines around for how to size the post on the EPDM relative to the hole in the aluminum housing? See example sketch attached.

The problem will be the shrinkage after demoulding the part. This needs to be determined first and then adjust the size of the post to suit.
