Does anyone know whether is is possible to claim credit for a solid deck as an H0 fire barrier between two process areas on an offshore gas production platform. Supporting steelwork has been PFP'd. I don't want to protect the plate if possible. Any references or justifications would be helpful.

Apologies if this is not the appropriate forum.

Try looking in the NORSOK Standards. They may have reference to other Codes where definition of the various H-type firewalls are specified. Look particularly in the "technical safety" standard S-001 or some of the structural standards. I think you don't have to protect it further, as a H0 wall must only protect during immediate evacuation, whereas a H60 and H120 wall have to maintain protection in 60 and 120 minutes, however you have to check this in the codes. (I'm not an expert on this)
