Hi,

I hope someone can help me out here. In my project I need to do a hand calculation of integral flange DN50 PN40 according to EUROCODE EN 13445-3 section 11, Annex G or Eurocode EN 1591-1.
I have following internal and external loads:

Pressure: 12 bar
temperature: 100 C
Axial force Fa: 850 N
Moment on flange: 9 Nm

Have anyone here done such verification/calculation of flanges acc. to Eurocode and have an example hand calculation? The flange is classed yes, but because of the thermal loads it needs to be verified by this method. Hope someone can give me some tips or maybe an example.

Best regards!

The mathematical method used in EN-1591 and EN 13445 App. G employs two nested converging loops to solve the system stiffness.

It is not really practical to solve with a hand calc unless you are very good with, for instance, MathCad using program loops.

The best option is to look at commercial software. Try Google or have a look at as on the banner above.
