hello all, can you help please, i have resently bought the above book, and i am a bit cinfused,for ezample,EN 10025-2:2004 S275JR 1.0044 3 ≤ t ≤ 16 Elongation % min. says "23 L, 21 T". my quetion is what does the L and T stand for? ( i believe it is L for lenght or longditudal and T is for transverse)am i correct in this , or does it mean something else please

You have it correct. L is the rolling direction and T is across it. ST would be the thickness (short transverse).

Never seen ST, just learned something. In Europe, this is normally expressed as Z (eg. Z35)

I will add just for completeness that many AMS (aerospace material specifications under SAE) are being modified to reflect two requirements.
First, bar cannot be be cut from plate.
And secondly they are requiring that plate (and some bar) be marked clearly with directions.
This is because some alloys (mostly Al and Ti) are in MMPDS with properties that are directionally dependent.
