Hangar Sliding Doors Mech design

Does anybody know where can I find tips, specs, ideas, etc for designing this kind of doors, regarding to mechanical issues as power requirements, velocities, mechanical systems and so on...?

I'm about to begin a design...

Have you tried visiting a local municipal airport to see how those doors are constructed? I'm sure the Facility Maintenance folks would be more than willing to discuss the hangar doors.

Have you tried seaching online (Google) for "airplane sliding hangar door"? There seems to be a bunch of manufacturer's websites that might give you some insight.

Have you checked with your customer concerning their requirements for this project? Perhaps they have a standard they wish to comply with.

Maybe you could get your hands on a copy of AFI 32-1023, Design and Construction Standards and Execution of Facility
Construction Projects (this is an US Air Force standard). It might have a master reference of documents that cover hangar doors.

1st: Yes, I did it.

2nd: Yes, I did it.

3rd: My customer only knows he needs a door.

4th: It sounds useful. How can I get it?

I just want to have a start to avoid the risk of major mistakes, you know, I have never designed a door like this.
