HAP vs. Trace700 2

I know I've read a thread comparing load programs but couldn’t find it when searching.

I’m looking to compare:

Carrier's HAP vs. Trane's Trace700

I hate to dredge up an old topic, but our office is looking to fully commit to software; what do you use for load simulation?

I use the HAP program, and have used many software’s - except the Trace700 program. Are the fairly similar? Does one have any major advantages?

Any input would be appreciated.

I haven't used Trace700, but it does have the benefit of being able to import/export data from Autocad Building Systems software, such that space airflows and ductwork can be drawn on the fly.

Personally, I wouldn't use either one.

Having used both in the past, HAP comes closest to ease-of-use, while Trane is more capable with the results more authoritative. However, there are issues with using either one since they come from two of the biggest mfrs in the business.

Carmel or Elite is a better choice, and probably integrate better with other software, too. Both claim to use strict ASHRAE factors, which was an issue several years ago - especially with Carrier's and Trane's software.
