Dear Guys

How can we calculate HAZ of a pipe based on thickness.

Model an input heat flux from a welding arc, with the heat capacity and conductivity of the pipe metal (simply treated it might be in just a circular plate of the given thickness).

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it's not safe ... make it that way.
