Where would I go to find allowable stress values for HDPE (polyethylene) material? To be more precise, I'm not interested in a given manufacturer's quoted values, I need a stress tables such as those found in ASME BPVC Section II, but for piping specs. I've looked at B31.3, but if they were in there I didn't find them.

B31.3 does have a section on non-metallic piping design, and I believe that HDPE is one of the materials listed. I haven't used it in a long time, but I believe that the tensile and a calculated safety factor are used, rather than a safe allowable stress per se.

B31.3 doesn't specify an upper temperature limit for PE specs. I'll keep my eyes open for stress tables. Thank you.

I think you need to look at the specific grade of HDPE (e.g., 3608, 4710) and the specific cell classification for your material (e.g., 345464C, 445574C) and then you can lookup ASTM D3350 which should I think give you properties for that material; such as the hydrostatic design basis information.

You might also find what you are looking for in API 5LE
