Hi all

I am designing 3d (3 x diameter) & 2d (2 x diameter) bending
press for HDPE pipes, the pipes are heated to 2500 deg C where after they are filled with pellets to keep the pipe's shape during bending, can anyone help me with force required to bend the pipes. The pipes sizes are 110mm up to 1000mm. The pipes are bent tyo 90 deg. Please help

All grades of HDPE I am aware of melt at 235 deg C or less You will need to thermoform at less than 200 deg C I expect. The force required will depend on temperature and will be very low to almost nothing, like by its own weight maybe.

Pat
