ANy tips as to how can I estimate the thickness of the heat exchanger unit having the following dimensions.

height of 9m length of 20 m and 2.5 m wide

The process details are as follows

Shell Side,
Flue gas
Mass flow 500 Kg/s
Inlet P 1.04 bara Outlet P 1.00 bara
Inlet T 540 deg C outlet T 200 deg C

Tube side
Sea water
Volume flow 21400 m3/h
Inlet P 1.9 bara Outlet P 1.65 bara
Inlet T 103 deg C outlet T 110 deg C

I need to estimate the thickness so i can determine the weight of the unit and make a rough estimate of the price..
Any suggestions/ideas will be useful.

Thank you

Kind Regards

Puneet

Shell and tube

The shell is a rectangular box

It may help if you specified the Design code used for the mechanical design of this unit - is it TEMA, and if so, which subclass A, B, or C?

If design code is ASME Sec VIII Div 1, Please refer Appendix-13. Rectangle Box are designed as per this Appendix.

Header Box of Air Fin coolers are designed as per this same.

TEMA can not be made applicable for this exchanger as Cross Section is not Circular.
