Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the process of designing a heat exchanger for a specific application and could use some guidance. Here's an overview of the system:

I have an exhaust gas with a temperature of approximately 340°C, which serves as the hot inlet for the heat exchanger. On the other side, I'm using ambient air with a temperature of 25°C as the cold inlet. It's essential that the heat exchanger is capable of handling these temperature differentials effectively.

Additionally, the heat transfer rate required is approximately 30 kWh (or around 100,000 BTU). The desired outcome of the heat exchange process is to achieve a temperature close to 120°C.

Given these requirements, I'm looking for suggestions on how to select a suitable heat exchanger that meets all of these criteria. Any recommendations or insights into the selection process would be greatly appreciated.

Look up fin fan coolers.

Basically like a car radiator.

But you say 30 kWh which is energy. You need to look at kW of heat.

In real life the answer is often, 'ask a heat exchanger vendor'.

What is the mass flow rate for the exhaust/air? Is the 120C the exit temperature for the exhaust or the air? Is the function to cool the exhaust or heat the air?
 
Research reputable heat exchanger manufacturers or suppliers that offer products suitable for your application.
 
Hi, so the purpose of the heat exchanger is to reuse this exhaust gas and heat the air, the mass flow rate of both is 0.1285 kg/s, and 120º is the temperature of the outlet of the heat exchanger yes.
I know that the best option is to contact a specialist, but as I have a lot of requirements I don't know who to contact...
