Do I need a cooling coil for a ammonia abosorber?
I am planning to use water or 5% sulphuric acid as a scrubbing solution for ammonia vapours. This is going to be a batch operation. Every three months, I will use this bubble chamber to get rid of ammonia vapours during bulk delivery. 5000 US gal is transferred in 30 minutes. The bubble chamber will be used only for an hour, as a part of exhaust system. This ammonia-absobing system is dedicated only for AA fill-up purpose. Then the spent solution from bubble-chamber will be sent outside for recycling with our regular spent ammonia.
We do not need any exhaust at all in between bulk deliveries since there is no detectable smell at all. There is no other opening other than inlet, outlet and and a ball check valve.
