Hello team,

I have came across design of the one equipment from seamless pipe & coil which made from tube.
considering ASME code,

1. DN100 semaless pipe have bending radius of 150 mm . so after bending (cold forming) , Is there heat treatment required.?
See attached profile. Pipe material is SA312 TP 304, design temp. (- 30 C to +120 c)

2. If I made coil from 1/2"tube of material SA213 304 of dia 80mm helical coil. Is there heat treatment required?
design temp. (- 30 C to +120 c)

Thanks,
KPM

Which part of the Code are you working to?
Are there any customer requirements?
HT required, NO.
Might be useful in the application, perhaps.
The issue of course is that with 304 you only HT option is full anneal.
When we would U-bend heat exchanger tubes some customers wanted the bends annealed, and some didn't care.
And some only wanted the tighter radius bends annealed.
A word of caution thought, annealing does not remove stresses.
It does change the very directional stresses (tensile on the inside of the bend, compression on the outside) into a random distribution.
This is because the rapid cooling after annealing creates many local stresses from differential cooling rates.
And of course keeping the bend dimensions can be a challenge.
As well as keeping a clean bright finish for optimal corrosion resistance.
