My last save was not in wireframe and I believe this is the problem. Part has
29,xxx faces. So my question is can I lighten it up or turn to wireframe before
I load? And I hate to do this because I will lose some progress and know it can be done, but how do you revert to previous saves?
Parts been trying to load for 1 hour+

Thanks,

Btw,
I'm connected and other parts load fine.

Thanks,

If it's an Assembly, you can just ask that you 'Load Structure Only' and then change display mode and then open the components separately. However, if it's a single piece part you may be able to stop the display of the part and change the display mode.

After opening the file do you see a small 'Work in Progress' dialog come-up near the lower-left side of your screen?

If so, select the 'Stop' button and this will interupt the DISPLAY of your model (don't worry, the model will be OK since the 'Work in Progress' message does not appear until all of the data has been safely loaded into memory). Now you can switch to something like 'Static Wireframe', which does not require the tessellation of the faces, as is needed in order to show it shaded.

Thanks for the reply, but

I have clicked "stop to interrupt this operation" when it's trying to display and
NX has now been locked up for 25mins now so not able to switch to wireframe.

This IS a single part NOT an assy.

Noticed windows task manager
Item: ugraf.exe using 50% CPU steady
Item: system idle processe using 50% CPU steady
Maybe my computers getting choked up from the get go?

Scratch the "system idle process" concern, that is normal operation for windows
to idle the CPU that's not being used.

As far as reverting to previous saves goes . . . it depends how Windows is set-up at your place.
I have the ability to click on the Windows folder, RMC (right mouse click) it, and you may see a "previous versions" tab, you should be able to figure it out from there.
I really have no idea how this is set up. About six months ago was the first time that I saw the tab.
I am using Windows XP Professional x64 edition.

You can do a general search on the number in Teamcenter to find other stored versions in the database. Depending how your admin has TC setup will determine how many versions are stored. (we have last 3 saves). When you do the general search make sure you clear all fields and then just put the part number in the "Name" field with asteriks front and back..example *83938474* you then should be able to look at the details column of the .geofins and find the date timestamp you are looking for.

One question and one tip,
Is this a NX6 part that now you try open in NX7.5 ?
We have seen "quite substantial" delays when opening these in NX7.5 and are therefore planning to "refile" all in NX7.5 format.
We have also seen a few cases where NX6 drawings ( master model) doesn't open in 7.5. The remedy is open the assembly first , run part cleanup, then open the drawing and finally save all. Cures that problem.

The tip, to open an older version in Teamcenter, right click the NX dataset, select File- Open ... ( in Teamcenter) then in the top of the dialog it will list the available versions, example
xxx.22
xxx.23
xxx.24

Select "the 23" and then mark something like UGV10ALL in the lower list and press OK.

Tomas
