Good Morning,

We have a 7500 kg vertical motor with a 1250mm diameter spigot location. The motor shaft diameter is 150mm.

I am struggling to find any literature for the recommended installation requirements. The motor supplier has said this is our responsibility.

So understanding vibration, noise, misalignment etc, Could anyone on the forum point me to some good practical guidelines for say a minimum requirement in vertical motor installation best practice?

We have all the loadings and torque figures.

The motor drives a pump via a 2.5m long cardan shaft. The motor sits on the reinforced concrete floor above the pump.

Best Regards
John

I realize that this motor is very heavy and you did not give us all the conditions, however, have you checked out rack and pion assembly? Sure there will be technical difficulties with rack and pinion as I can imagine.

Many thanks bimr, exactly what I was looking for.

Best Regards
John
