HeliCAD (vlx slb) was released by a company called Monash Engineering (Australia) a few years ago for generating 3D fasteners and springs in AutoCAD 2000.

The program is still available if anyone still uses acad for 3D- just email me. I have removed the timer to allow unlimited use.

Apologies for releasing this and not fully supporting it, but at that time there appeared to be very few issues during extensive use by some large petrochemical companies.

Sorry for the confusing post. I wrote HeliCAD a few years ago to satisfy some specific client requirements but lost most contact with users due to the emerging significance of 3D parametric modelling applications, company name changes etc.

Just letting anyone who might still use acad for 3D that HeliCAD is still available (free- bugs fixed) if needed.

Hi,

I found and have been using an older version of Helicad for a little while - would like to see if this is newer and takes care of some bugs. Great program, thanks!

I would like to get a copy of Helicad, could you let me know how I can get this from you, thanks

HeliCAD - are you out there? I never did hear back about the updated software. Would still very much like to get ahold of it too. Thanks?

Hi - Thanks very much!

I've been trying this out and it is very nice. I did notice however that it is attempting to form a single solid, but fails with the following error:

Pick Bolt Shoulder Centre
Generating 3D Solid . . . . .
First and second points must have distinct X,Y coordinates. *Invalid*
First and second points must have distinct X,Y coordinates. *Invalid*
First and second points must have distinct X,Y coordinates. *Invalid*

No solids selected.
Unknown command "B". Press F1 for help.
At least 2 solids or coplanar regions must be selected.
; error: bad argument type: lselsetp nil

The workaround of running union on the resultant pieces is not so bad, but perhaps there is an easy solution to this?

Thanks again,

t

Perhaps you need to set OSNAP off or to 0?

Hi Everyone I've tried helicad to draw a couple bolts in acad 2009 but a 2 inch bolt draws out at 50 inches and the threads are left handed? and no threads in the nut. Is this normal?
