Helical Piers

I am looking for information on designing helical piers for a water cooling tower.

The water cooling tower sits on a 20'x30' concrete pad with a depth of 20'-25' to bed rock.

Just design the pad to be able to resist punching shear at each helical, put the total load you anticipate on each helical pier on your plan, the installer will torque the pier to the total load you specified. G.L.

If you are planning on supporting this on bedrock, I dont think helical piers are very appropriate for this.

Driven steel piles would be better.

What are the conditions that require the use of a deep foundation to support the cooling tower? For an appropriate geotechnical engineering response, it would be nice to know the subsurface soil conditions in addition to the depth to rock. It would also be nice to know the total load acting on the concrete slab.

I wouldn't use helical piers to transfer the tank loads to rock.
