Thank you so much pmover ,but the problem for me is that EJ with a limite rod it named TIED EXPANSION JOINT OR UNTIED EXPANSION JOINT??????

Thank you LittleInch it help but i still dont understand when to say UNTIED EJ OR TIED EJ , i really get confused.Because i have a client that demand an EJ UNTIED WITH LIMIT ROD AND NO TIE ROD.HELP???

Client is confused.

Limit rods are there to limit the amount of expansion or compression in an EJ.

I think what they mean is that when it is installed, the EJ is free to move in both directions up to the limits of the Rod.
Sometimes EJs come "pre stressed" using tie rods to increase the operating length. In operation, once fixed in place the rods are removed or relaxed.

But I agree it is a confusing statement so you need to go back and ask them to clarify as it is not clear what they mean.

HELLO,

Up to you.

The limit will be defined by the vendor as max and min axial stretch.
