Hello, I am a 3rd-year CE student from the Philippines, we have a 2-story house term project and I want to know what could be the dead load allowances for MEPFS (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire, Sanitation). Our Structural Code does not provide this information. Thank you and Godbless!

Hi, the allowances for dead loads in MEPFS will depend on the materials used and the specific design of your project. Generally, you can estimate the dead load allowances by calculating the weight of the MEPFS components and adding them to the weight of the building's structure. It's important to note that the actual allowances for dead loads will vary depending on your local building codes, as well as the specific requirements of your project. I would recommend consulting with a licensed structural engineer or architect who can provide you with more specific guidance on the dead load allowances for your project.
