Hello, I am looking to calculate the wind loads on an exterior ceiling soffit. From the threads that I've read, it seems that I am to design C&C loads per the walls adjacent to the soffit. See thread507-383398. Can someone provide a code reference for this? Is the research done by Peter Vickery enough? Also, my soffit runs the length of a building. I want to double check that I should not be considering Eaves/overhang loads as well. The soffit is at height 40ft when the roof is at 321 ft. I am not the building design engineer. Thanks!!!

See ASCE 7-10 Figure 30.7-2. It says for the soffit of an overhang the pressure can be assumed the same as the wall pressure below.
