Ok I am using Catia v5 r11 and have and assembly with drawings for each part of the assembly, the drawings are saved as separate files for each drawing, I have all the files saved in one folder for the entire assembly, I went to open the drawings today and Nothing, they have worked in the past, i havent even modified them, and they are there as the file sizes are in the hundreds of kilobytes, What I think happened is that they are not associated with the assembly any more. What can I do to get this fixed. I have a project due in the morning, I diddnt even mess with the associations or even modify the drawings or product. What gives? thanks for the help.

can you give more details? what do you see when you open the drawings? an empty drawing or a not-updated drawing? how did you create the drawings? from the assembly or from each part separately? there could be many reasons and you have to be careful with the settings.

no I get the message that it cannot open file, let me copy paste exactly what it said, and I went from the assembly, clicked the part in the tree after I selected drawing wizard. then it sends that part over to the sheet.

Up comes INCIDENT REPORT when I try to access the file.

1Can not read data from file G:\JIG FINAL\Top Block.CATDrawing.
2Can not read data from file G:\JIG FINAL\Top Block.CATDrawing.
3Can not open file

I realize that if catia cannot find the assembly file then after I update the drawing, it would turn blank, from previous experiences so it must be something other htan simply the drawings arent linked with the assembly. but when I go to save management in the assembly file, the drawings used to be listed in the box. however now the drawings are not listed in the save management box, yet the assembly file is in the same folder with all drawing and part files. BAFFLED.

hmmm... this kind of messages usually come out when you try to read a file saved in a superior release of catia... I suppose this is not the case.

can you run a CATDUAv5 ("Tools - Utility" from the catia menu or "Tools - Batch management" from windows´ start menu) on the files? see if it helps...

can you clean all your catsettings ?

HMMMM I am using r11 here and school has 15 I think. I may have done a save at school that I don't remember. Maybe this is why. I will have to try to open them at school, otherwise I will try the other ideas. thanks guys.

One more thing to remember:
For example:
If you save a model/drawing on Feb22/07 you will not open same part on a PC with date Feb20/07. Therefore, if your license had expired, I hope you did not roll back the date on your laptop.

It was simply the version difference. I was able to open the drawings at school and present the assignment. Thanks guys. 5050t What do you mean exactly. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying but the structure of the sentance has me confused.

He's saying you shouldn't set the system clock back on your computer. Catia recognizes creation and modification date of the file.

Why are you using R11, and how did you come across that version?
