Hello everyone, we're providing design criteria for sprinkler contractors, so we're don't have profound knowledge on this subject.
We're working in a cookie processing plant (from Lotus, some of you might even know it) where we have a 2 floor room where the first floor has 2 Blowers to convey the bulk material (flour and sugar) to the process areas. This material is stored in two silos (cylindrical-shaped at the top with conical section crossing the ceiling from the 2nd to the 1st floor (to connect with the blowers).
So far, we know the emergency vent requirements the silos must have by NFPA 61, but we haven't found anything special (out of the fact that it's an Ordinary 2 area) for the sprinkler design on NFPA 13.
It's 65 ft silo, so I was wondering if we might be ignoring something (special sprinkler head or something). Has anyone come up with something similar?
Thanks in advance.
