Hi to all!

I'm trying to model a cyclic loading of a Reinforced Concrete Wall (RCW) using ABAQUS/EXPLICIT. I have several questions i would like to ask:

1) Is it correct to define the cyclic loading defining different steps of loading alternatively? i.e. 20 KN in the 1st step, -20 KN the 2nd step.

2) If I'm defining an imposed displacement as loading type, I'm having a local failure of the element (large distortions of the finite element). I assume is related to the load ratio in time, but I'm not really sure.

Thank you
