Hello Eng Tips,

Can anyone help me understand what a bearing spigot or spigot bearing is, for an automotive wheel bearing ?

Google just confused me. Is it a feature or a type of bearing. Any images/figures would be appreciated.

A spigot bearing is what supports the nose of the transmission input shaft - it's installed in the end of the crankshaft.

Spigot bearings (or pilot bearings as we call them in the US) are unrelated to wheel bearings.
