Hello,

I am having the hardest time trying to find a formula for the coefficient of monosymmetry for an MC shape. Everything I find is set up for an I-shape. If anyone has some insight into this I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Jesse

??? "the coefficient of monosymmetry", what is that ???

Yes I am using it in the CSA S6-06 code section 10.10.2.3. After a day of research I have found that the coefficient of monosymmetry for a doubly symmetric shape and channels in bending about its strong axis is zero. A lot of work for nothing, but now I know. Thanks for the help.

And the equation above would be used if I were using a plate girder.

Makes sense. Afterall, doubly symmetric shapes and channels are not monosymmetric.
