Hi to all,
I'm modelling a rectang. composite plate with a hole in the middle. I'm modelling only 1/4 of the plate (because of the symmetry), so I get a rectangular shape with a round fillet on one corner. I want to stack several Solid46 elements through the thickness, each element having n layers. The problem is the following: when I try to mesh the volume, I get different error messages, all saying that something is wrong with the topology of the volume, and so on... I know that the problem comes from the arc of circle, since the meshing of a rectangle plate is perfectly working. I use a hexahedral mapped meshing(MSHAPE,0,3D and MSHKEY,1). Could somebody tell me how to mesh a shape containing an arc of circle, with brick-shaped elements? I tried to concatenate 2 areas on each volume, in order to get 6 areas on each volume (since adding a round fillet creates a 7th area...), but it doesn't work...
Thanks...
