Hi all
Hope u all are well.
Can appendix 1-10 be applied for the Self reinforced nozzle?
For my case inputs are like this:
vessel ID -94"
nozzle dia -32"
Hence this is a case of large access opening. As per client specification appendix 1-10 to be used in case of large opening. But other client requirement specifies that all nozzles shall be self-reinforced.
Now my query is that to meet the appendix 1-10 criteria reinforcement is required but for Self Reinforced nozzles how to overcome this issue?

Yes, if you are not using a reinforcement pad, then te becomes zero and A5 and A42 are zero. However, Appendix 1-10 was removed from the 2017 Edition of the Code. If you are building to the 2017 version, I would suggest using the Div. 2 rules under Code Case 2695.
