Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a way to create a 3DSolid from extruding one region into another. I have used a rulesurf so far, but of course that creates a surface, and I cannot use the 3DSolid commands such as interference etc.
I'm using AutoCAD2002.

Just use the solids tools in the solids toolbar or draw closed plines and extrude. Next use the union and other commands in the solids editing toolbar.

The problem is that the extrusion is not following a path, nor has the same taper angle throughout. I want to use what in ProEngineer is called Blend, basically to join up two different shaped regions in order to form a 3DSolid. I dont know if I made it any clearer...

Yes, but it doesnt work because it is not "a solid or coplanar region". In fact, it is these 3DSolid commands that i ideally like to use...

Going back to your first post, you wrote " extruding one region into another". I have only had sucess extruding polylines.

Dear aerostacey,
It cannot be done in AutoCAD, but if you have access to AutoDesk Mechanical Desktop, you can do it using the commands AM2SF and AMSTITCH.
