I want to simulate a resistive ladder DAC using cadence, but I've only started using it. I was wondering what the best way is to implement the switches and create the digital driving circuitry to cycle through the codes

I don't think you can do it in CADENCE -- I would use
any ( e.g. GW-) BASIC.
