Hidden Lines in Drafting

I know how to show and remove all hidden lines in a view.

But is there a way to remove one of the hidden lines, and keep all the others in that view?

Edit -> View -> View Dependant Edit -> Erase Object

Well ewh is right, that's using the 'View dependent edit'

What if there is a curve that has a small hidden line and when I pick it, the entire circle highlights?

In the view dependent edit dialog box, choose the 'edit object segments' option. Change the line font to invisible and 'trim' the small segment away.
