High compressive strength non permeable ceramic material. 1

Hi all, I am looking at the possibility of using an advanced ceramic material in gasketing applications.

I'd need a ceramic I can get in decent sized thin sheet proportions (say 5000x500x2 mm). Now I'd like it too be able to take over 150 MPa of compressive stress/crushing without fracturing and be heat resistant upto 1200 degC. It'll also need to be electrically isolating and gas impermeable.

Am I asking for too much ?

I can't tell what your application is but several materials come to mind based on your requirements:

Pyroceram or similar glass ceramic (Corning is one of several major suppliers).
Aluminum Oxide (it appears you are in the UK--try Morgan Advanced Ceramics in Rugby).
Steatite
Mullite
Sialon
silicon nitride
others?
