Which process is better ? High Frequency Induction welding (HFIW), Fretz Moon (FM) or ERW ?

The specification calls for ERW pipes. However, the manufacturer is doing HFIW process for pipes from 50mm dia to 150mm dia and FM process for 15mm dia to 50mm.

Is there any inherent advantage or disadvantage with any of these process - i.e. HFIW and FM over ERW ?

The welding process is not what you should focus on. What is the testing? Both destructive (bend, flatten, flare) and Non-Destructive (Eddy Current, Flux Leakage, Ultrasonic) are the improtant factor. You need to know the limits of the tests and how they are used.

I understand that. However, there is a specific query regarding the welding process, which I need to answer and hence this post.
