I am working on a project & using following high temperature alloys to build furnace rolls and it looks like it is out of budget, does anybody know the material cost of these alloys? If so, please share. Thank you.

(1) HN (G-X35NiCrSi25-21 OR Pyrotherm G24/24 NbTz)
(2) HP Modified (G-X40NiCrSiNb35-26 OR Pyrotherm G25/35Nb)

I have no idea about the relative price, but I can tell you that for furnace rolls, the lower priced alloy is no bargin. Considering the cost of lost production time to replace cracked rolls, the cost of the rolls is not really a big issue. You need to get your management to see that.

HP in preference to HN alloy, provided your budget permits. HN too is not a poor alloy, as I have used quite often HN .

Depends on service temp and atmosphere.
In our oxide furnace we run either Supertherm (25Cr, 35Ni, 15Co, 5W) or MoRe35MA (28Cr, 38Ni, Al+RE), These are both Duraloy grades.

There is no such thing as an inexpensive furnace roll, you either pay on the front end or in lost product and furnace repairs.

I am not looking for cheaper materials to build furnace rolls. The situation is that we sold a system with about 100 rolls for 2 furnaces:

- One Austenitizing furnace operation temperature is 1000C, has 33 rolls use HP modified alloy, rolls total weight is about 40,000 lbs
- Another Temper furnace operation temperature is 800C, has 67 rolls use HN alloy, total rolls weight is about 60,000 lbs

The overall budget for rolls is about $1,000,000 USD. I doubt the budget probably can only buy the roll materials. I need HN & HP modified alloy market prices to confirm.
