I am looking for cost effective alternatives to GPO-3. We currently have several units that we make out of GPO-3, however we are reaching temperatures in our unit of ~300°C (GPO-3 is only rated to 130°).
The material must have similar structural and electrical capabilites. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The switchboards of old were made out of slate. That would probably meet the thermal and structural requirements. There are still a few of these boards in the UK in the older plants. They look like something from a Frankenstein movie.

I'm curious: what are you building?

Thanks for all the recommnedations- we are building a
Harmonic Filter Resistor-

I assume that the conventional technique of a metal structure carrying individual porcelain insulators are unsuitable? That's the way Cressall build their big neutral earthing resistors - is this a similar design?

Cressal is actually a sister company to us- we are looking at pretty stringent space requirements and so require a little different design. We do however use many similar designs on our other products-
