I have a pressure vessel designed for 500 F but one of the inlet nozzles provides a gas at almost 1000F. The problem is that the nozzle projects inside the vessel. The differential expansion between the nozzle on the outside and the projection on the inside causes excessive thermal stresses at the nozzle to shell junction. Are there any standard nozzle details available anywhere that shows how to isolate the higher temperature connection?
Thanks.
